Founded by licensed architect David Loomis following twelve years leading complex residential commissions across Northern California. The practice approaches every site not as a blank canvas, but as a continuity of local ecology, climate, and daily domestic rituals.

We believe the most enduring spaces emerge from listening closely to how clients inhabit their rooms—how morning light crosses a timber floor, where shelter is needed, and how materials weather over time.

Material honesty and structural clarity

Every architectural decision is guided by building science and the authentic expression of materials. Honed limestone, lime plaster, and sustainable timber are selected for their ability to age gracefully, acquiring character through daily use rather than requiring artificial maintenance.

Orientation toward natural light dictates spatial planning. Rooms are mapped to the sun's daily arc, ensuring living spaces are bathed in soft morning and afternoon illumination while private retreats remain sheltered and calm.

A good home should feel effortless to live in, providing quiet shelter that supports ordinary daily routines long after the builders leave.
